By Sandy James

A Magaluf holiday has the opportunity for excellent daytime activities as well as some fantastic nightlife. Magaluf is actually the islands nightlife capital as it is one of the most developed spots on the island. Magaluf itself received an award for cleanliness and convenience, the European Blue Flag award.

The one-kilometer long beach is a beautiful spot to relax and recuperate from the normal workday. The golden sand beach merges with the neighboring Palma Nova beach and has many opportunities for water sports including, boating, scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing, windsurfing and snorkeling. If you get tired of the beach you can spend some time on the pedestrian only promenade. The promenade is lined with fun shops and restaurants that provide an excellent shopping environment. Much of the architecture is a sight as the modern buildings will be right next to buildings from the 60s and 70s.

Magaluf is popular because of the nightlife as there are over 100 bars and clubs to choose from. You can spend all night out and sleep away the daylight hours to your hearts content. BCM Square and Punta Bellena are some of the most popular nightspots in Magaluf.

Besides the nighttime activities you can enjoy a fun filled day mountain biking, bungee jumping, playing tennis, go-karting, and bowling. You can visit the weekly market in Calvia for some culture and see the history of the island at Palma. It is also possible to visit the smaller islands in the area by taking a pedalo or small boat.

The island has many resorts that offer a variety of holiday packages. Some of the more popular accommodation spots include Alcudia, Cala Bona, cala DOr, Cala Egos, Cala Millor, Cala San Vincente, Cala Vinas, Calas de Mallorca, Camp de Mar, Can Pastilla, Can Picafort, Deya, Illetas, Magalluf, Paguera, Palma, Palma Nova, Playa de Buro, Portals Nous, Porto Cristo, Puorto de Soller, Puerto Pollensa, Sa Coma, Santa Pnsa and SIllot. - 24585
